This study was carried out to
investigate "the role of the Sufi idea in the formation of awareness with
the social change". By following the analytical philosophical method, the
study defined the accurate definition of Sufism, its different dimensions and
indications, its relationship with the social and cultural status in the
Egyptian society and the changes related to the different historical periods as
reflected in Naguib Mahfouz's works. The aim of this was suggesting a value
system and extracting a group of educational bases and principles that can be
used in forming the individual's change will.
